What a mess!

We usually publish only one photo per day, but I couldn't resist all these people dealing with the snow-slush on Nicollet Ave. S., employing a roof rake, a snow blower, and a shovel.

Water Lilies In Stained Glass

Inspired by the artisan work exhibited in the Glensheen Mansion in Duluth, this souvenir is reminiscent of the style of the mansion, which was built on Lake Superior and completed in 1908.  Looking through the stained glass lilies can lighten up a grey day.

Leaning Telephone Booth

Also known as a 'kiosk' or 'public call-box' in the King's (British) English.  When was the last time you called from a pay phone, much less from a telephone booth?  I can't remember.

Footprints in Snow

I hear we might get more snow this weekend.  That's typical for the end of February.

Lily Liqueur Glass

Hand painted from the state of Jalisco, Mexico.  A little bit of rum in this glass, sipped with a friend at the end of the day, makes all seem right, bringing back memories of a trip to the tropics of Puerto Vajarta.

Snow & Wi-Fi

I wonder what the point of these free wi-fi spots are, since they're not necessarily in places you could easily use a laptop... This one on the corner of 24th & Nicollet.

House Patterns

The patterns of these house elements and swing caught my eye as I was driving up Pleasant Ave. one day. I had to go back a few days later to photograph it.

Year of the Dragon

We began this blog last year on the Lunar New Year, February 2, 2011, the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit.
We've decided to continue on into the Year of the Dragon.

Considered the luckiest sign in the Chinese zodiac, the dragon is flamboyant, innovative, energetic, and optimistic.
In 2012, the Lunar New Year (aka Chinese New Year) fell on January 23rd. It ends on the full moon 15 days later (Feb. 7).

Ready For Use

I think this is such a sweet park for residents in back of an apartment building, and on the alley.
