Day After Rembrandt Party

Inside the MIA, cleaning up after the opening gala the night before for the Rembrandt exhibit.  One can imagine what fun must have occurred in this decorated room before the party stuff was packed up.  I have always found the MIA parties to be great fun.

Inside Reflections

Once again, i'm inside the Art Institute.  I can just walk there and see world-class art.  This is a window from inside the lobby where you are looking north towards downtown Minneapolis.  One can reflect literally and figuratively.

White Stairs Trapezoid

Looking down from the 3rd floor in the new Target wing of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, you could get dizzy following the stairs.

Looking at Lucretia

"Lucretia," by Rembrandt, painted in 1666

From the MIA (Mpls. Inst. of Arts) site:
"According to the Roman historian Livy, Lucretia, the wife of a Roman nobleman, was known for her virtue and loyalty. She was raped by Sextus Tarquinius, the son of the ruling tyrant. The next day Lucretia revealed the crime to her husband and father and, in their presence, took her own life..."

Rainbow

Former entrance to Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) on 24th Street (yes, I know it's slanting--it was more interesting that way).
