Enchanting Snowfall On the Midtown Greenway

Northern Spark On The Greenway

Hundreds participated in the Northern Spark all-night art festival and Greenway Glow fundraising ride on the Midtown Greenway.  Fifteen art-music-performances occurred on the Greenway while the lit bicyclists and Northern Spark participants watched, rode the Greenway and had an all-around good time.  Musicians pictured in this photo-collage are, left-center, Jack Brass Band and center, Dorothy Doring and her band up on the Midtown Sheraton plaza overlooking the Greenway.

In 2013, the Northern Spark event will occur on Sat. June 8-Sun. June 9.

(I know 'cause a cop gave me a warning--not the $90 fine--for biking on an Uptown sidewalk.)

We Like Nice Bikes

This week, 8 more Nice Ride stations were installed, bringing the total number in the Nice Ride bike-rental network to 95.

Secret Path

 

This path was beaten by folks going from Stevens Ave. S. up to the 35W highway overpass at Lake Street. I came across it when I took my bike on an express bus I caught up there.

2. Winter Biker

David Brown, Whittier resident, near the Nicollet Ave. entrance to the Midtown Greenway bike trail. His bike chain had come off, so he was walking the few blocks home when I met him.
